Summer is here and our community has become quieter since our friends have gone back north. We wish them a safe summer and look forward to their return in the fall. Hope they all filled out the Home Watch Forms.
Our C.O.P. program continues with new mission duties which allow us to be more hands on. Please see me or any of our volunteers for an application.

CRIME REPORT: There was an armed robbery at PopEyes. The victim was robbed at gunpoint. A detailed description of the suspect was given to responding deputies. When they located the suspect, a second victim approached and said they were also robbed by the same individual. A fully loaded .40 cal Glock firearm was recovered.
A few weeks ago there was a shooting in the NW section of the city. Detectives gathered information on the suspect. A week later, there was another shooting in to 80 block of SW 8th Av. And it was determined it was the suspect. The Viper team located a juvenile suspect and he was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered. He was charged with attempted murder.
Earlier in the 2nd week of May, there was a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of SW 16th Street. BSO Fire Recue did life saving treatment on scene and the victim was transported to the hospital. When he was able, the victim gave a description of the suspect and a deputy located the suspect at a 7-11 and was taken into custody. The suspect admitted to the crime and was charged with attempted murder.
FIRE REPORT: A commission on Accreditation of Ambulance services will be visiting Dania Beach to ensure the high standards we enjoy here.
Fire Lt. Marcus Alphonse is the coordinator of the Cadet Program. There are 74 cadets in Broward County. They get real time experience with ride along with both fire and rescue trucks.
